Goal setting is one of the most valuable exercises a dancer can perform. 

Goals focus a dancer’s training and provide a measurable roadmap that can track progress. 

Setting good goals can greatly improve motivation in training. This course covers the key principles of goal setting that can set dancers’ pathways to success. 

Help dancers prioritise, plan and program training schedules and track progress towards dancers' aspirations.

3 hrs time valued on demand CPD. Includes three months access.

  • Reflect on previous goal setting practices in dance and the value of setting future goals for dance training
  • Consider best practices in goal setting and how they may be applied to dance training
  • Develop applied skills in deriving and achieving goals

Dr Luke Hopper & Dr Shona Erskine

Luke is an Australian dance scientist with a research focus on the biomechanics of dancer performance and injury. Luke’s research has involved collaboration with major ballet companies in the Australia and the UK. He has served on the board of directors of the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science and is the vice president of the Australian Society for Performing Arts Healthcare.Shona is a psychologist specialising in the performing arts. Shona works with you on your journey to become the performer, educator or director you want to be. She develops bespoke and evidence based solutions for the challenges you face.
